Mini Ninja is an all-new sport discipline inspired by gymnastics, martial arts, obstacle training, and freestyle movement for girls and boys 6 – 8 years old. Children learn a combination of flips, rolls, jumps, and kicks.  Strength and agility are tested through obstacle courses and various training techniques. Â
TRICKS & FLIPS
Tricks and Flips is the all new sport discipline inspired by gymnastics, martial arts, obstacle training and freestyle movement for girls and boys 5 -18 years old. Children learn a combination of flips, rolls, jumps and kicks. Strength and agility are tested through obstacle courses and various training techniques!
BEGINNER BASICS
Beginner Basics is our intro to tumbling fundamentals class where participants will learn body control, coordination, and the foundational skills that are the building blocks of all tumbling skills! This is a perfect class for beginner tumblers or first-timers at Premier Academy. Learn everything from a forward roll to a beautifully executed
cartwheel, and learn how to do it the PA way.
No prerequisites are required, start here!
ADVANCED BASICS
Advanced Basics is a continuation of Beginner Basics where participants will continue to acquire foundational tumbling skills by adding on the next progressions. Â This class will have a large focus on handstands, which is the most important skill across all levels! Prerequisites: Completion of Beginner Basics, or an evaluation that will include all skills from the previous level.
WALKOVERS
The Walkovers class utilizes all of the previously learned foundational skills, combined with a focus on flexibility/mobility to acquire the front and back walkovers! You will learn the puzzle pieces that make up walkovers and how to put them together as well as beginning the understanding of how to generate power in more advanced skills.
Prerequisites: Completion of Advanced Basics or a tumbling evaluation that will include all skills from previous levels.
ROUND-OFFS
The Round-offs class utilizes all of the previously learned foundational skills, combined with a focus on precision and timing to acquire the roundoff! You will learn the necessary technique pieces that make up a roundoff from the power hurdle, proper arm placement, and how to generate power to the critical elements that elevate your connections to those more advanced skills.
Prerequisites: Completion of Advanced Basics or a tumbling evaluation that will include all skills from previous levels.
HANDSPRINGS 101
Handsprings 101 is a class formulated to learn handsprings the PA way! In this class you will learn to execute all of the elements that make up a handspring isolated through drills, before putting them together and acquiring the skill. At PA we pride ourselves on teaching tumbling in a way that is safe and facilitates an easy progression throughout all of the levels avoiding the dreaded plateau! Tumblers will complete this level with a well-executed front and back handspring that is ready to be built off of.
Prerequisites: Completion of Walkovers or a tumbling evaluation that will include
all skills from previous levels.
HANDSPRINGS 201
Handsprings 201 is a continuation of HSP101, where we take all of our previously learned skills and focus on how to connect them. You can make combo skills feel easy by learning connections the PA way! You will learn a variety of standing and running tumbling skills, including standing and running multiple back handsprings, and front tumbling connected through to round off back handsprings.
Prerequisites: Completion of Handsprings 101, or well executed round off rebound, and front and back handsprings. If handsprings are not executed in a way that promotes an easy progression, the tumbling instructor may require the athlete to complete Handsprings 101 prior to joining Handsprings 201.
TUCKS
Tucks class is where you will learn all of the technique elements that go into a beautifully executed tuck! Learn how to rotate safely and in a way that promotes progression through to higher level skills. Through drills and repetition you are sure to have a tuck that is confident and consistent every time.
Prerequisites: Completed Handsprings 201 OR a tumbling evaluation that will include all skills from the previous level.
