Parent Education Sessions Now Available!

We are excited to be offering Parent Education Sessions throughout the season on a variety of topics that will help you support your child throughout their athletic journey.  These will be offered via Zoom and are recorded to watch at a later time as well.

The Importance Of Online Safety- November 12th

  • Sunday, November 12th 1 – 2 p.m.
  • Join Cst. Jenny Sych of the RCMP, also coach for Premier Academy Fort McMurray for a class where we will be discussing a variety of topics on Online Safety, providing you and your athlete the knowledge to keep yourselves safe when navigating social media.

Setting Your Child Up for Long-Term Success in Cheerleading - December 20th

  • Date: December 20, 2023
  • Time: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
  • In this session, we will be discussing a variety of topics including skill development through growth spurts, the roles in cheerleading and transitions in those roles, how to successfully move up levels and through the age grid as well as the long term athlete development plan.
  • Ken King is the owner of Boost Innovation, a software and consulting company for human performance. His roots are in coaching college basketball and teaching. He’s worked across multiple sectors in human performance and is proud of his long time connection to cheer and Premier Academy.

Understanding the Score Sheet - January 17th

  • Date: January 17, 2024
  • Time: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Session Description: Join us for a session to help parents and spectators understand the all star scoring system. After this session you’ll better understand how teams are judged and ranked. This will be facilitated by Christie Roethlingshoefer, a Supervisory Judge for the Alberta Cheerleading Association.

    Christie, a seasoned figure in the cheerleading community, brings two decades of invaluable experience to her role as a Supervisory Judge for the Alberta Cheerleading Association. With a coaching background spanning seven years in scholastic and a decade in all-star cheerleading, Christie has nurtured the skills of aspiring athletes. Her decade-long judging journey, marked by expertise in all areas of the scoresheet, includes four years in a supervisory judge role, showcasing her commitment to maintaining high standards. As an instructor and choreographer for five years, Christie has infused creativity into routines, leaving a lasting impact. Having been an athlete herself for seven years in scholastic and eight years in all-star cheerleading, she possesses a unique perspective that enriches her judging and coaching roles. Christie’s dedication to the cheerleading community is evident, making her a pivotal force in the continued growth and excellence of cheerleading in Alberta.
